Bayou Country Park
A master plan for a new 154-acre parish recreation area. The plan included meetings with parish-wide stakeholders, user groups, parish government and the public. The study included a parish-wide assessment of recreation facilities, needs and demand. The Strategic Planning resulted in the acquisition of property and the development of the Bayou Country Sports Park. This facility will change the recreation landscape for generations to come. Phase 1, which includes 5 softball, 5 baseball, and 4 soccer fields, are sand-based and fiber reinforced sand-based systems with under drainage and Celebration Bermuda grass. A park-wide storm water plan collects storm water and ties to an on-site bayou for the park-wide irrigation system
