New Orleans Upriver Greenway Corridor Master Plan
The project master plan is a mixed-use waterfront development along approximately one mile of the Mississippi Riverfront, just north of the Convention Center and CBD in New Orleans. It includes the renovation of an historic power plant into a museum and retail center which serves as the gateway to this section of the riverfront. This gateway provides an elevated crossing over an existing railroad and transition to the riverfront promenade. Alongside the promenade are numerous public gathering areas, including the great lawn, a floating amphitheater, sculpture garden, children’s maze, retail shops, and a dog park. This plan won a Louisiana Chapter ASLA Merit Award in 2006.
